Vegan Chocolate Cake

Have you ever wanted to eat a chocolate cake without any guilt? This recipe brings the health of a vegan cake and the sweetness of a regular cake together. With a scrumptious frosting, and a spongy cake, this dessert is sure to curb your cravings!



  • 1 ½ cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ⅓ cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of distilled white vinegar
  • 1 cup of water


Frosting  *Note: This recipe creates possibly too much frosting…

  • 3 cups of powdered sugar
  • ¾ cup of cocoa powder
  • ½ cup of melted coconut oil
  • ¼ cup of honey
  • ¼ cup of warm or hot water
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract



  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly grease side of pan with vegetable oil.
  • Sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
  • Add the oil, vanilla, vinegar and water.
  • Mix together until smooth.
  • Pour into prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • Mix frosting ingredients together in a new bowl until smooth. Use less or more powdered sugar depending on your preference of sweetness.
