Hamilton in Milwaukee has officially left the building. After countless amazing performances spanning from October 22nd to November 17th, the Hamilton “Philip” touring cast has left the Marcus Performing Arts Center, leaving behind an impressive  reputation.

Hamilton: An American Musical was inspired by Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s extremely well-known musical shows the USA’s Founding Fathers as people of diverse ethnic backgrounds involved in a modern strife, while at the same time following Alexander Hamilton’s inspirational but turbulent life story.  The Milwaukee run of Hamilton was extremely profitable, filled with talent, and left the audience highly impressed.

The “Philip” cast of Hamilton, which has been traveling across the nation, has a brilliant array of gifted actors and performers. One of these amazing actors is Joseph Morales. He plays Alexander Hamilton, and has been in several other iconic travelling tour productions such as: In the Heights, If/Then, and Bombay Dreams. Another accomplished performer is Ta’Rea Campbell, who plays the oldest Schuyler sister, Angelica. She has starred on Broadway in Disney’s The Lion King as well as the National Tour of Sister Act. Additionally, this production featured Nik Walker (Aaron Burr), who was seen on Broadway in Hamilton and Motown. This cast is jam-packed with an abundance of talented, brilliant stars gracing the stage every night.

Several KM perform students went to see Hamilton in Milwaukee. After speaking to numerous people that were present at one of the performances, I found that almost all of them had only positive things to say about the show. When asked if seeing the show was worth it, one student said, “Oh, it was so worth it! It was worth every single penny.” Another said, “Yes! Definitely, one hundred percent.” Although you can unfortunately no longer see it at the Marcus Center in Milwaukee, you can still see it in Chicago at the CIBC Theatre.

This production of Hamilton in Milwaukee was very successful, with an impressive cast leaving the audience awestruck. If you were not able to go out and see it while it was conveniently in Milwaukee, you should definitely head over to the nearest theatre that is showing Hamilton: An American Musical to experience a story of,  “ America then told by America now.”
